A big round number at age 60 is easy to screenshot and hard to trust. This note is how to read our live sample — and what it is not.
Try Net worth at 60 (illustration only).
What the sample is doing
The tool adds three buckets from today until 60:
- EPF — today’s i-Akaun total, plus employee and employer contributions on salary and bonus, plus a dividend you set
- Invested capital — money outside EPF (ASB, unit trust, cash, brokerage) plus a monthly amount and a slice of bonus
- Other net assets — optional. Leave at zero if you do not want to guess house equity or debts
“Net worth” here is those three, not a full family balance sheet.
Defaults are a typical Malaysian worker at 30, not a high earner and not the EPF Basic Savings target. Pay is rounded from the DOSM 30–34 formal-sector median (December 2025). Extra investing of RM 200 a month is a modest habit, not the national average — many people save nothing extra.
How to read the number without fooling yourself
- Nominal vs today’s ringgit. The big gold figure is future ringgit. The line under it deflates by the inflation slider. Use both.
- Bear / base / bull only shock returns. They do not model job loss, a house forced sale, or withdrawing EPF early.
- 4% withdrawal is a rule of thumb, not a pension. Malaysia’s mix (EPF, ASB, taxable funds) is not a US 401(k). Treat that chip as a conversation starter.
- You can type past the sliders. Salary, EPF, and other assets go well beyond a “typical worker” if you need to stress a higher earner.
Move one slider at a time. If the story only works when every assumption is optimistic, it is not a sturdy story.
What this is not
This is not financial advice, not a KWSP or SC tool, and not a promise of any dividend or market return. EPF dividends and wage statistics change; the tool shows an as-of date. If you need a plan, talk to a licensed adviser.
We built it as a sample application: Malaysia-specific rules, interactive inputs, a chart, a table. The same shape can sit on your site with your brand and your WhatsApp — for agents, HR pages, or any operator who wants a calculator that closes a conversation.
